A short highlight video of Appie’s match against Croatia:
Tuesday, 19 July 2016 – Today in Ulm, the U19 Dutch National Team have won their first group match against Croatia with a 3-1 win! The team began super strong and dominant. The first goal came from Bergwijn in the 17′ minute. Zeefuik received a yellow card 10 minutes after. Then with a beautiful and spectacular pass of Nouri, Lammers hit the 0-2. Shortly after Zeefuik was sent off the pitch with two yellow cards, the team was struggling to fight back. Croatia was able to penetrate and score a goal. All players had to reorganize and fulfill a different and more defensing role on the pitch. When Bergwijn got the ball in the 85′ at centre line without one of his team mates around to play the ball to, he didn’t think and went with a massive sprint towards the goal and the match was decided with a 1-3 win!
Well done to all our players! All four were in the line-up and all four have done a great job. Congrats to Calvin Verdonk, Kenneth Paal, Steven Bergwijn and Abdelhak Nouri.
